Where ADHDers shine or struggle as managers at work.

If you are a manager AND you have ADHD wiring, here are some areas to lean into and some to watch out for ⬇️

* ADHD advantages as a manager *

You are likely to be great at motivating your team and bringing enthusiasm to the day when you're in the zone.

You will bring innovative solutions to problems and encourage creativity in your team.

You are more likely to tune into what your staff enjoy and help them do more of it and organise tasks so that people get to focus more on what they are good at and get a buzz from - it gives you a buzz too.

* Things to watch out for as a manager with ADHD *
Not giving honest feedback to staff as you are scared of hurting their feelings or being disliked and rejected.

Managing intense feelings such as overwhelm, irritation or frustration when things aren't going well with the team.

Avoiding the work you don't find interesting - some of this can be worked around through delegation to team members that enjoy or don't mind what you hate!

Does any of this ring true for you?

Pay attention to where you shine - I bet you are doing a beautiful job!! In the places you find things more challenging there are ways to honour your wiring and not get caught in a situation that feels awful and makes your work or team suffer.
