All career and life coaches are different, so it’s important to find the right one for you.

Below is a little bit about my approach to coaching - if it sounds like a good fit, drop me a line so we can get started!

What does BETTER WORK coaching involve?

The easiest analogy is to think of life coaching as a personal trainer for your mind and life.  With each session we build your toolkit to enable you to have a more satisfying and vibrant work-life. Over time, incredible transformations happen.

In practice, coaching can seem a lot like a really interesting conversation. It gets more relaxed and unfiltered as you get to know me (and I, you), which means the work gets more and more transformative. And of course it's all completely confidential.

We focus first on what you are least satisfied with in your work-life and any key decisions to make and go from there. I use cognitive inquiry (thought work) and mind-body work, as well as bringing in the most effective theory and techniques I've learnt through coach certification, mental health research, a squillion self-help resources and my own personal learnings. If you are a spiritual or religious person, we will also integrate coaching with work on connecting to something bigger in life to make our lives even more fulfilling and frankly, magical.

I love what I do and am constantly amazed at the massive goals my clients are kicking.  Click here to see what a few of them have to say about me; or if you're ready to jump straight into a coaching session, get in touch so we can get started!

life coaches vs psychologists

I work with healthy individuals who are functioning pretty well – they are able to handle their day-to-day lives, maintain a job and relationships.

If I determine that a client needs further support I will refer them to a mental health professional such as a counsellor, psychologist or psychiatrist.

Sometimes I will work with a client who is also seeing a mental health professional - this approach has proven to work really well, however it's not for everyone.  If this is where you're at then we need to discuss this approach further to ensure it's the right move for you.

INCLUSIVE PRACTICE

I continually reflect on and critique my own position and privileges in the world as a white, cis, middle class and ‘straight sized’ woman. I acknowledge that I have only lived life through my own eyes, and cannot fully understand the collective experiences and suffering of other populations, even those I belong to, such as the queer community.

However I am always empathetic, respectful and open to learning from and supporting my clients. I treat all of my clients with respect; embracing their ethnicity, cultural background, gender and sexual preferences. My work is trauma informed.
